This refrigerator is solid, and similar to beverage coolers at a much higher price tag. 2 cooling zones give great flexibility. Wine storage is very narrow... champagne bottles will not fit. Top shelf is also very short. Think juice boxes, small mixers or bottles/cans stored on the side.

Good, but not great

Mixed review and here's why... this unit was purchased as a replacement to a Marvel beverage center that resulted in faulty parts only 8 years after I took delivery. Needless to say, that experience lead me to research other options. On the advice of a friend, I made the uncharacteristic decision to purchase this model without looking at it first. While it's a beautiful unit and has the KitchenAid reputation behind it, I feel the designers really missed an opportunity and didn't do their due diligence with respect to the interior layout. In placing the tasteful controls in the middle to lower portion of the unit, they compromised the amount of space afforded to consumers. Secondly, in a time where beer bottle design is used as a marketing tool, it's very disappointing that the primary shelf where bottles would be stored, fails to allow for nothing more than a traditional 16 oz design. The result, one either has to remove the upper shelf that would otherwise be used for cans, or the bottles need to be laid down to maximize the space resulting in it's own set of problems. Had the controls been relocated, the spacing between the two shelves would easily satisfy the wants and needs of all users. Bottom line... I'd recommend this to a friend if they intended on using it for cans or the traditional 16 oz bottles; for those who desire more flexibility, they will unfortunately will be disappointed and should research alternative units.

good design but very noisy

Purchased a month ago very nice looking beverage center with well designed interior to accommodate varying size formats.

Should really be marketed as a single, not dual, temperature

The beverage center part cools well. although it is not ideal as some beer bottles don't fit standing up white wine bottles also don't fit standing up which is a problem to keeping open bottles while drinking. that was the main reason to get the beverage center/wine rack combo. My idea was to keep white wine in the beverage compartment along with beer and reds in the bottom wine racks. I don't drink too many white wines. The wine area keeps too cool even when I select the highest temperature for the top portion. It just keeps red wine too cool even when I select "red wine". The light features are cool and the motion sensor is a plus. And I love that it matches the rest of my ktichenaid appliance suite. So I'd keep it solely for the looks lol.
